Renovations with no shortcuts.

Foremost Constructions has been renovating homes across Melbourne since 1965, now in our third generation of Registered Master Builders. Every project is managed personally, with clear communication at every stage, whether it’s a single room update or a full home transformation. We work across the inner city and bayside, on homes with plenty of character.

Foremost holds building registration CDB-U63719, and Robert is a current member of Master Builders Victoria.

What we do

Kitchens and bathrooms

Kitchen and bathroom renovations, on their own or as part of a bigger job. Detailed joinery, tiling, and wet area work delivered to a finish that holds up as well as it looks.

Whole homes

Whole-home renovations, staged or all at once. On inner-city homes, the renovation is worked around period features, tight sites and close neighbours.

Pre-sale refreshes

Strategic upgrades to maximise sale value, scoped and delivered quickly without timeline disruption. Our Ivanhoe renovation was a pre-sale refresh, completed in around three months.

Accessibility upgrades

Adapting a home for changing needs. Our Bundoora renovation and disability upgrade combined a full renovation with an accessibility upgrade, also completed in around three months.

How it runs

First meeting
A preliminary meeting to talk through what you have in mind. We welcome enquiries at any stage of planning, from a rough idea through to a finished set of plans.
Documentation and permits
Quotation and estimation, then a pre-contract meeting and a Domestic Building Contract, required for any project over $10,000 in value. We handle permit applications as part of our service.
Build and handover
Construction, with progress inspections along the way, then a final inspection and handover.

Where we work

Do I need council or planning approval for my renovation?

Often, depending on the scope. Your local council, builder or draftsman can help you work this out, and we handle permit applications as part of our service.

Can I stay living in the house while the renovation happens?

It depends on the scope of the job and which parts of the house are affected. We’ll talk you through what’s realistic once we understand your project.

Do you take on smaller jobs like a single kitchen or bathroom, or only bigger renovations?

Both. Kitchen and bathroom work is a big part of what we do, on its own or as part of a larger renovation.

Will I get a written contract?

Yes. For any project over $10,000 in value, a Domestic Building Contract is required, and we provide this as standard.
